Women in Agriculture Leadership Program Fellowship
The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) is pleased to inform the University community of the Women in Agriculture Leadership Program Fellowship, implemented by African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) under the Africa–Australia Partnership for Climate-Responsive Agriculture.
This fellowship is designed to strengthen the leadership, technical capacity, and influence of African women scientists working in agriculture and climate-resilient agrifood systems. The programme supports women researchers to advance gender-responsive and climate-smart agricultural innovations, while building a strong network of women leaders capable of influencing research, policy, and practice in Africa’s agrifood sector.
Programme Duration
- Approximately 24 months of leadership development, mentoring, and professional training.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be African women scientists working in agriculture, agrifood systems, gender, or climate-related fields
- Be nationals of one of the target countries: Egypt, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, or Senegal
- Hold at least a master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., agriculture, agricultural economics, climate science, natural resources, food science)
- Have at least seven years of professional experience in agriculture, climate, or agrifood systems
- Be residing and working in Africa
- Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to gender-responsive, climate-resilient research
- Be proficient in English or French.
