International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Neuroscience Training Grants programme

The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) is pleased to inform the University community of a funding opportunity under the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) Neuroscience Training Grants programme. This programme provides support to early-career neuroscientists from under-resourced regions to attend eligible neuroscience training courses. The grants are intended for applicants planning to attend a neuroscience training course starting between 1 July and 31 December 2026. Applications from students wishing to attend an IBRO-Supported School will not be considered under this programme.

Eligibility
Applications are open to:

  • PhD students; and
  • Early-career postdoctoral fellows who are within 5 years of starting their first postdoctoral fellowship.

Grant Support

For applicants in the Africa region, the maximum grant amount is USD 5,000.

RID encourages eligible researchers and trainees in neuroscience and related fields to explore this opportunity, particularly those seeking specialised short-course training to strengthen their research skills and career development.
