GCI World 2026

The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) is pleased to inform the University community that applications remain open for the GCI World 2026, a fully funded online training programme offered by the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The programme is open to eligible applicants until the latest application deadline.

GCI World is an intensive three-month online programme designed to equip participants with practical skills in Python programming, machine learning, and data science, progressing from foundational concepts to real-world business applications. The programme aims to build the next generation of AI and data science professionals by providing high-quality training from one of Japan's leading research institutions.

Programme Highlights

  • Duration: Three (3) months
  • Programme Start: 17 September 2026
  • Format: Fully online
  • Lecture Schedule: Weekly live lectures on Thursdays at 11:00 UTC

Eligibility

The programme is open to students worldwide, including those at the University of Ghana. Eligible applicants include:

  • Undergraduate students
  • Master's students
  • Doctoral (PhD) students

 Students with an interest in programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, economics, and related disciplines are particularly encouraged to apply.
