UG Research Fund 17th Call

The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) is pleased to announce the 17th Call for Proposals for UG Research Grants, with support from the University of Ghana Research Fund (UGRF).

The following grant categories are available:

  • Early Career Grants — up to GH¢10,000
  • Mid-Career Grants — up to GH¢55,000
  • Multi-Disciplinary Grants — up to GH¢150,000

 

Proposed research projects must align with one or more of the University’s research priority areas listed below:

  • Infectious and Non-Communicable Diseases
  • Food Production and Processing, including improved approaches to breeding
  • Trans-disciplinary Research into Climate Change Adaptation
  • Development Policy, Poverty Monitoring, and Evaluation
  • Politics, Socio-Cultural Change, Mobility and Development
  • Creative Arts, Education and Communication, and Information Literacy
  • Fourth Industrial Revolution Tools, including Artificial Intelligence, data science, machine learning, digital transformation, etc.

Please note that applicants are required to log in using their UG Staff ID and MIS PIN.

 

Application Deadline

The deadline for completing the online application is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026.
