The Bromkamp Endowment provides competitive scholarships to outstanding graduate students enrolled in MPhil programmes, with a particular focus on economics and finance-related disciplines. The Fund was established  by Dr. Joachim Bromkamp, the former Honorary Consul of Ghana at the Stifterverband in Germany. , The Endowment seeks to foster academic excellence and support the development of future scholars and professionals in these critical fields of economics and finance.

 On an annual basis, high-performing graduate students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability, strong research potential, and a clear commitment to pursuing an academic career are chosen to receive the award. The scholarship not only alleviates financial barriers but also motivates recipients to excel in their field of study and contribute meaningfully to research and knowledge production at the University of Ghana.

 Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1.  A first degree from the University of Ghana; with a minimum GPA of  3.00
  2. A Ghanaian national,  enrolled in year 1 of an eligible MPhil programme at the University of Ghana.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to conduct high-quality research work.

 Eligible Departments

Applications must be  enrolled in one of the following Departments at the University of Ghana:

  • Department of Finance
  • Department of Accounting
  • Department of Economics
  • Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness

 How to Apply:

 The following documents must be attached as part of the application.

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. Three-page (maximum) summary of proposed research you intend to conduct while enrolled on the programme. This should clearly outline the background, objectives, scope and proposed methodology.
  3. Budget and Work/Implementation plan on separate sheets.
  4. Academic transcript and copy of undergraduate degree certificate.
  5. Proof of current registration
  6. Recommendation from a faculty member in your department
