The Unit provides comprehensive pre-award support for proposal development. This includes assistance with concept notes, proposal structure, budgets, compliance with funder and institutional guidelines, and peer review before submission.
Researchers can also access sample templates, budget formats, and other proposal resources to enhance the quality and competitiveness of their submissions.
3. Can the Unit assist with the paperwork and approvals needed for grant submissions?
Yes. The Unit coordinates all required institutional approvals for grant applications. This includes securing sign-offs from Heads of Department, Deans, and the Research and Innovation Directorate (RID). The team also assists with essential documentation such as institutional endorsement forms, letters of support, and ethical clearance (where applicable). This ensures that every submission meets both funder and University compliance standards.
4. What happens after a grant is awarded—how does the Unit help manage it?
Following an award, the Unit provides post-award management support to ensure smooth and compliant implementation.
This includes setting up project accounts, monitoring fund disbursement, guiding financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with donor and institutional financial regulations. The Unit also assists with budget amendments, project reporting, and close-out processes in collaboration with the University’s Finance and Audit units.
