The Simons Foundation invites applications for the Postdoctoral Fellowships in Plant Biology, aimed at recent PhD graduates seeking to pursue a research career that addresses fundamental problems in plant science. The program welcomes applicants already working in plant biology as well as those from other scientific disciplines (such as engineering, computational modeling, or biophysics) whose expertise can be applied to plant research.

 Award Amount and Duration

  • Annual stipend: USD 85,000 (paid to the host institution for the fellow)
  • Annual allowance: Up to USD 35,000 to cover health insurance, research supplies, small equipment, and travel
  • Duration: Three (3) years, contingent upon satisfactory annual progress

 Eligibility

  • Applicants must hold a PhD degree earned within three years of the application deadline
  • Candidates may come from diverse scientific backgrounds, provided their training can be applied to plant biology
  • Both U.S. citizens and international applicants are eligible to apply to work with postdoctoral research sponsors in the United States
