UG VISITING RESEARCH STUDENT PROGRAMME 

The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID), runs a Visiting Research Student (VRS) Programme, which enable graduate students from local and international institutions to conduct research at the University of Ghana. The programme facilitates mentorship and research networking, providing opportunities for further collaboration.  

The programme is available for up to 12 months with the following benefits; 

• Allocation of a research supervisor 
• Affiliation to relevant academic department 
• Access to the Balme Library and research labs/resources 
• Opportunity to attend and audit lectures 
• Access to healthcare services 

 

HOW TO APPLY 

Submit a completed application VRS Form and email to rid-vrs@ug.edu.gh with the following supporting documents;  

• Certified copies of academic certificates   
• Full Curriculum Vitae   
• One passport picture uploaded with the completed application form   
• Letter of recommendation from applicant’s institution 
• Evidence of sufficient funds for duration of intended stay 
• Summary of research to be carried out with a workplan of activities
