FOX INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 

The Fox International Fellowship Programme is a direct two-way student exchange partnership between Yale University and twenty-one (21) of the world's leading universities, including the University of Ghana. The programme, which primarily focuses on the Humanities and Public Health, is tenable at Yale University and will allow the ideal candidate(s) to spend one academic year at Yale University as part of their doctoral programme. The Fellowship has been established to identify and nurture graduate students interested in harnessing scholarly knowledge to respond to the world’s most pressing challenges. 

 Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a PhD programme at UG in any of the following focal disciplines: 

Economics     Political Science     International Relations   Law      History     Philosophy     Anthropology     Psychology  

Geography    Business/Management       Public Administration       Sociology     Environmental Policy     Public Health 

  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time candidate of a PhD programme at UG in any of the focal disciplines listed above. 
  • Candidate should have completed the first year of their PhD programme at the time of application. 
  • Applicant should have a clearly defined research area at the time of the application. 
  • Candidate must demonstrate commitment to serious research and a capacity for leadership and civic engagement. 
  • The candidate must demonstrate both excellence in relevant coursework as well as strong evidence of research ability in the field of endeavor they are proposing as their Fox Fellowship project. 
  • Applicant language skills must be proficient to succeed in their research project and engage in the intellectual and social community of the host university. Candidates for the Yale International Fox Fellowships at Yale University must have an excellent command of the English language in conversation, reading and writing.

A completed application package must consist of: 

  • Expression of Interest form for Fox Fellowships 
  • Yale MacMillan Centre Application form from partner institutions. 
  • Letters of recommendation from 2 faculty members of the University of Ghana who can comment on your research and studies as well as your commitment to leadership and service in the context of the Fox International Fellowship’s overall goals. 
  • Most recent Curriculum Vitae. 
  • Official transcript of Academic Record on your PhD programme. 
  • Proof of current registration on PhD programme.
