The UG conference grant scheme awards funds for organizing local conferences, and travel grants for attending international conferences to faculty whose research activities and outcomes advance knowledge in their field of study. The fund aims to promote the University of Ghana’s research impact and global image.

ASESSEMENT OF APPLICATION

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria;

The applicants;

· Rank

· Years of service at UG

· Status of service (i.e. active – not on study leave/ leave of absence/ sabbatical), etc.

· Role at the conference

· Previous awards

· Proof of additional funding

· Research funding attracted to UG

The following documents must be uploaded with the application;

Conference Attendance

· Conference invitation / proof of registration

· Abstract of research

· Justification for attending conference

· Proof of commitment of personal funds (conference registration,

payment of accommodation etc.

Conference Organization

· Letter of support from applicant’s Head of Department/Dean/Provost

· Letter of support from primary sponsor of conference

· Conference announcement

· Justification for organizing conference

· Evidence of funding from other sources

· Details of proposals submitted by applicant’s department/unit

AWARD Attend a Conference – Up to GHc20,000.00

Organizing a Conference – Up to GHc10,000.00
