The International Professional Recognition Council (IPRC) has conferred prestigious awards on three Research Development Officers (RDOs) of the Research and Innovation Directorate, University of Ghana (UG), in recognition of their professional knowledge and experience in research management.

Ms Nana Oye Akuffo, Senior Research Development Officer, was awarded the prestigious Senior Research Management Professional (SRMP) status by the IPRC.
The SRMP is the highest level of attainment awarded to research managers serving in strategic leadership roles. Ms Akuffo is a trailblazer of the research management vocation at UG and has trained and mentored other professionals.

Ms Patience Okpoti and Ms Deborah Akyeampon (RDOs) were awarded the status of Research Management Professional (RMP), having advanced from the entry level of Research Administration Professional (RAP). The Council commended Ms Okpoti and Ms Akyeampon for the relatively short period in which they have advanced from the entrants’ level, through commitment and development of core competencies in research management.

The recognitions follow rigorous assessments conducted by the Technical Review Committee (TRC) of the IPRC, which considered the professional achievements, leadership contributions, and impact within the research management and administration profession. The awards underscore the recipients’ commitment to professional development in support of the University of Ghana to achieve its strategic goals.
