Research and Innovation Directorate Staff Pay Courtesy Call on Provost - College of Humanities

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, Professor David Dodoo-Arhin, the newly appointed Director of the Research and Innovation Directorate (RID), paid a courtesy visit to Professor Peter Yaro, Provost of the College of Humanities. This marked the second stop on Prof. Dodoo-Arhin’s tour of Colleges, following a similar visit to the College of Education on Monday, February 17, 2025. The tour is part of his efforts to formally introduce himself after assuming duty on January 2, 2025, and to engage with the Colleges on strengthening research collaboration in alignment with the University’s broader research objectives. He was accompanied by Mrs. Irene Yeboaa Ashiley, Administrator of RID, and Mrs. Dorcas Opai-Tetteh and Mr. Daniel K. Shadow, Research Development Officers (RDOs) assigned to the College of Humanities.

The meeting also focused on key areas of collaboration, including enhancing RID’s support, providing additional resources for the College Grants Office, and integrating RDOs as representatives on the College Research Board. Prof. Dodoo-Arhin reiterated RID’s commitment to supporting the Provost’s vision and advancing the University’s strategic priorities, particularly, Impactful Research, Commitment to Faculty and Staff, and Engagement and Partnerships. He also expressed gratitude for the College’s ongoing collaboration with the Grants Management office at RID. 

In response, Prof. Yaro thanked Prof. Dodoo-Arhin for initiating the engagement to address operational challenges and reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining effective collaborations to further advance research within the College.

The visit highlights Prof. Dodoo-Arhin’s dedication to fostering stronger partnerships across the University to achieve impactful research and create innovative initiatives.
