About Us
The Innovation Unit at the Research and Innovation Directorate plays a crucial role in driving and supporting innovation within the University while achieving global impact. Our team fosters and promotes innovation and entrepreneurship within the University of Ghana (UG) and among its key stakeholders. Additionally, we facilitate partnerships between the University and industry to drive research, innovation, and development.

Our Key Focus Areas
- Promoting an Innovation Culture:
We foster a culture of innovation by encouraging creativity, problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking among students, faculty, and staff. - Managing Innovation Projects:
Our office oversees and manages various innovation projects from ideation to implementation, ensuring they align with strategic goals and deliver tangible solutions to real-world problems. - Collaboration and Partnerships:
We facilitate collaborations with industry experts, academia, and startups to leverage expertise and resources for innovation. Additionally, we identify opportunities for adopting new technologies that enhance products, services, and processes. - Supporting Entrepreneurs:
We provide resources, funding, mentorship, and guidance to support internal entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, helping bring innovative ideas to fruition. - Measuring Impact:
Our office evaluates the impact of innovation efforts using key performance indicators, metrics, and feedback mechanisms to continuously refine and improve innovation processes.
