CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: L’Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science Young Talents Awards Sub-Saharan Africa 2025

The Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) is pleased to inform the University community that the Fondation L’Oréal and UNESCO have launched the 16th edition of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents - Sub-Saharan Africa Program. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Sub-Saharan Africa regional program aims to promote and encourage the participation of young African women in science. This program identifies and rewards young talented researchers in the formal sciences, life and environmental sciences, material sciences, engineering sciences and technological sciences.

Award Details

•     25 endowments for doctoral students and 5 for post-doctoral students

•     10.000€ each for doctoral students.

•     15.000€ each for post-doctoral students.

Eligibility

•     Be a PhD student or have obtained a Ph.D. in the following scientific fields: Life and Environmental sciences, Physical sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer and information sciences (2nd year at least).

•     Be from one of the 48 countries in the sub-Saharan African region, and work in a research laboratory or institution in one of the countries of the region or be enrolled in a university in one of the 49 countries of the region (including South Africa).

OR

•     Be from one of the 49 countries in the sub-Saharan African region (including South Africa) and work in a research laboratory or institution in one of the 48 countries of the region or be enrolled in a university in one of the 48 countries of sub-Saharan Africa.
